Whats the value on that? My friends brother in law has one of them down in Louisiana. Always thought it would be cool to own one.

Rare is relative and not desirable. These were made from a weak receiver and are prone to jamming. They can never be converted to .45 ACP. As such they sell for 1/3 the price of a "proper" Thompson.

Compare that vs. a slightly more recent auction for a “proper” Thompson which hammered at $54K.

Of course, all West Hurley made guns sell for substantially less than their Colt-made or WW2-era cousins.

Here is a separate query: anyone here live in or near West Hurley, NY? I had wanted to drive by the old factory site on my way to Phoenicia this past summer but for the life of me I can’t find where the factory building used to be located.
