Recrown and thread AK barrel?

Anyone know any shops in the Hudson Valley area that would even consider doing this? I've got a Saiga 7,62 I want to have threaded then use a front sight gas block on.

Thought about doing it myself, but that is not something I think can just be done on a bench.

Interesting to hear that about gunworks. I actually had a few guys on K98KForum send me to them when I wanted to make a LSR K98k Clone.

Guess this and the fact they won't even touch my gun is reason enough to stay away.

Weirdly enough I did a ftf sale through them, bought a rifle from a guy off armslist and was going to buy a handgun too. They tried to charge me $150, or around there, to do a handgun transfer. Compared to the $10 fee for a rifle...

Just cut my shotgun barrel today. Anyways, I cut and crowned my sks barrel a few months ago. It's an easy enough job to do it yourself. I didn't need to thread it, because I bought a slip on thread adapter.

We have these clamp on shaft collars at work. They work great for cutting fairly straight, and then use it for filing the barrel cut square.


This is how I did the sks cut also.
After filing the cut square, just use a brass machine screw in a drill, along with some valve grinding compound, to do the crown. This was actually very easy, and the crown turned out better than the factory crown.
