Red Dot opinions for Glock 43x MOS

I will be getting a Glock 43x MOS version and while I have done my own research, I figured I would see what people's opinions are here.

So, anyone have the MOS version of the 43x and if so, what Red Dot are you running and why?

I don't know what footprint your Glock has, but I have a Vortex Defender on one of my carry guns and a Holosun 407 on another. I also have a Leupold Delta-point.

The Vortex is an OK sight, nothing fancy about it. It works well, but the auto shut-off is useless. It's supposed to shut off after 14 hours of non- movement. 14 hours ! What's the point ? Worse yet, that frequently doesn't work. There is no auto brightness feature, so pick a middle range brightness setting and deal with it. It will eat one battery about once a year. This has a RMS-C footprint.

The Holosun 407 is a very good sight, again without a lot of extras, but it works flawlessly. The auto shut-off works as it should, as does the auto brightness feature. Having the solar backup is nice, too. This will take a couple years to eat a battery. This sight has a RMR footprint. ( at least, I think so - my memory isn't as perfect as the rest of me )

The Leupold Delta-point was the first reflex sight I ever bought. It works perfectly, from the auto shut-off to the auto brightness. This will need a new battery about every 18 months. It uses the Doktor footprint. Mind you, this is the original Delta-point. Triangular dot. Not the Delta-point pro.

While I carry the pistol that wears the Vortex Defender most often, I have come to see the shortcomings in reflex sights. What I have found is that the inside of the reflex sight will gather dust and dead skin cells easily, and it will need to be cleaned frequently. I could see it easily becoming full of snow or dirt in a hand to hand fight. This observation leads me to consider replacing the sight with an enclosed type such as the Holosun EPS.

I agree and enclosed is the way to go. I have the holosun 507c and I’m happy with it but I’ll probably give it to my son when he gets his permit and buy an enclosed one.
