I have a used carry handle that needs to be refinished.
I believe originally the aluminum pieces were anodized, and the steel pieces were parkerized. The issue is that the steel pieces like the locking nuts, and one half of the mounting surface are permanently attached. The nuts have been staked on, and cannot be removed all the way to separate the steel from the aluminum to refinish separately.
What are my options? As far as I cant tell this carry handle is a legit USGI piece, and I do not want to permanently alter it.
