Reloading buddy

Good morning upstate NY'ers,

After my father passed, I inherited all of his reloading equipment. I really don't need to go into those details, but there is a ton of it! I am all set up for reloading and some other items on their way. Only 2 things I lack is extensive knowledge to over come my ignorance and more experience. I am sure there is someone out there in digital land that is willing to lend a physical / phone hand, share knowledge and have a light beverage discussing reloading questions and help.

I'm not new to reloading, I got basic principles down that my father taught me. I have loaded / in process of loading rounds for these following calibers:

.429 cal (44 rem mag for T/C)
.358 cal (35 rem for T/C)
7mm-08 (T/C)

Is there anyone out there willing to be an Elmer / mentor to an newcomer for reloading?

Thanks for the invite and I plan on several questions.

For me, I'm old school and learn much better from interpersonal communications, talking on phones etc.

I don't mean to offend, it's just my style and for many other reasons.

I highly recommend learning this in person... have someone come to your house and help you setup the dies and show you how to use it all.

Especially if you are doing larger rounds. Screwing up could mean the difference between life and death OR severe injury.

While it's not a terribly hard thing to learn, it's the consistency that counts. I also recommend the first few months of reloading to not have any (or very minimal) distractions.

That is why I tell folks to start on a non-automated approach to reloading, then move to a fully automated system. For a beginner, there is too much shit to go wrong that could leave you and others in a potentially hazardous situation.

An experienced reloader can also reload bullets that are NOT in your average reloading manual safely.

If in doubt, pull the bullet and dump the powder and start over. Make sure the COAL is to spec as well. Start with the minimum charge.
