First time since shoulder surgery I've been running the press. Last week I kit the local stores for powder and primers and this is what I observed. Plenty of small pistol and small rifle primers out there. Some large pistol primers. No "magnum" large or small pistol primers to be found and no large rifle primers. (It may vary in your area.)

I see 1# bottles of H335, Win 231 and Win296 at Cabela's in Cheektowaga. I also went to Johnson's (Lockport) and Sugarbush (Attica). Some of the old school powders are not in stock, Unique, Universal, Titegroup, Red Dot, Green Dot.... Seems the reblended newer powders are in stock (it's a conspiracy to make you buy the newer reloading manuals!) 1# bottles only, no 4# or 8# jugs (I miss the Gun Center now!) You'll have to mail order if you like big jugs. (Joke intended.)

I just ordered a bunch of .38 coated lead bullets. 3-4 week lead time, but they're in production. Copper jacketed (I like Hornady) there seems to be ample selections in rifle-pistol but again thanks to inflation, prices suck.

Basically you have to plan ahead for primers and powder. Don't wait until the next outage, at least some stuff is out there.

Everything you were looking for is available on line now. Factor in the traveling you did to the different stores and it would be cheaper for you to pay the hazmat and shipping.

I've been using the phone and e-mail as well. I'm spoiled by pre-2020 just going to the LGS and picking up a 4# or 8# and using it up.

Plenty of things out there if ya look, not everything but a lot. Lots of Free Hazmat/shipping,seems like it circles from vendor to vendor every few days./weeks. Large rifles/pistols are still high $$ I can find small pistol primers close to old-school prices. Lots of powders around but some IMRs are still hard to find and they seem to be the most expensive Check all the big ones and ya might find what ya need & the BEST tip is to go in with a couple of buddies so the shipping/hazmat is spread out. Midsouth/Powder Valley/Graf& Sons etc.

I just get all my stuff from Natchez. Making pistol rounds costs about the same as manufactured rounds.

You buy the reloading equipment once and you are good to go for a very long time. Buy once...cry once.

Large Rifle Primers are still>$125 a Brick and scarce compared to small primers.

Ginex Large Rifle Primers can be had for around $80 bucks if ya look, that's shipped & Haz included. Still not the greatest but decent if ya need them. I have never used them; LRP is the last thing I need, but they are out there. I agree that the USA/domestic primers are still pricey.​

I bought 5K of the Ginex Small Pistol Primers, but don't remember seeing them in Stock...$80K for Large Rifle Primers is still highway robbery, but so is $4.25 Diesel Fuel....I remember when RETAIL for WLR was $30K
Another thing: Don't overlook the "Commercial" Primers packed and marked "Not for Retail Sales" and/or CCI-NATO Primers (Small Rifle 5.56 and Large Rifle 7.62) they work fantastic! Even though they're on the hard side, they still work in everything I've shot them out of.

My group of shooting buddies & I have bought close to 100K of these primers and had great luck with them. My one buddy had some issues with some early ones but 0 since months ago. They just dropped the price a little and debated if I should buy another 10K or not! I have plenty but more is always better,LOL
