Reminder to do some gun maitenance

I just tore apart my safe, organized it, made shelves, cleaned, lubed and silicone clothed all my guns tonight. Took a while but worth it. I finally have an inventory to go by that’s accurate. I also took pictures, documented long gun serial numbers and made general comments about condition for insurance purposes.
Just thought I post a reminder and I do this annually. Next up is parts and ammo and that will take much longer.

I have a log book of all guns.

I have listed, Make, Model, serial number as well as where I got the gun, when and how much I paid.

At least twice per year, I do a pretty detailed cleaning of all I have,

I have a binder with sheet protectors where all my purchase authorizations, FFL transfers and receipts go after I scan them.

Everything is logged by pistol, long gun and others, then by date.

In my excel spreadsheet is is done by date, caliber, type (i.e. pistol, long gun, etc) where I purchased from, new or used, last serviced/cleaned, last fired/used.

It's best to be organized when it comes to this type of things, this is the way.

Oh man I thought I was the only one that was meticulous to the T with inventorying stuff. I too log all gun info as well as their last cleanin etc. Have another log of all ammo and reloading components. I can get the number of bullets available in diff calibers and weights, available brass (cleaned, dirty), weight of powder remaining, number of primers, and so on. I have a system in place. Not sure if anyone could figure it out, but it works well for me.

Total believer in detailed total inventory sheets of serial #’s what, when, who and where etc. And goes without saying to be kept (if not) even more secure than the inventory itself.

I keep an inventory also. Stored on my computer and in "the cloud", Incase the computer blows up or disappears.

How secure is the cloud? I’m wondering that.
I need to talk to my insurance agent and will do so soon. I need to make sure I have enough insurance and what they need for me to cash in on that if it comes to it.

Just another place to stash the list. Hardcopy in the safe, on the computer and online somewhere. If all 3 get compromised at once, I have bigger things to worry about.

My concern is bad actors knowing I have guns in the house and becoming a target.

Damn, you guys are on it. I've been meaning to do something like that for a while, just never got a round to it. I was talking gun stuff a while back with a guy at work and he dropped the "so how many guns DO you have" question, and I hadn't actually thought about it for quite a while and don't actually know. LOL. I'd have to really sit down and think about it a bit and then go retrieve them all from various locations about the house and other places to make a log sheet. My standard answer to that question is always "more than one but less than a thousand" anyway.

I had to count twice so I’m only a step or two above you. I forgot as well and even forgot while I was counting becuase I got distracted.
I also have a thing about odd numbers and I was on an odd number so I thought I’d have to buy another one. Then I forgot I loaned one to my dad for varmint control at his land, back to an even number woohoo!! Oh then I just remembered I have two lowers I have to build yet as well. I’ll have to add them to the list!!
Parts and ammo cabinet are next and that won’t be nearly as easy. I’m actually dreading it. I have a good count on ammo but I just bought a ton and I can’t remember if I added it all. I need to get more ammo cans and just record the amount of ammo on them for quick easy counting and rotation. Then I’ll only ever have to count the first can going forward.
I’m out of room in my ammo cabinet so I had to move my parts tub to my tool area.
