Remington 510 target master question.

Helping a friend clean up and get his grandpas old single shot Remington 510 working. It’s in great shape but I can’t get the bolt back into the gun. I understand how it goes in the gun and I got it in the receiver without the pin but I think it’s the wrong pin.
What’s happening is the pin that holds the both handle in is binding it up. I can get the handle to move to cock the firing pin but when I try to insert the bolt with the handle pin it’s too long. It’s hitting the receiver. I looked at some videos and pictures on line and it seems like the ones I saw have a small amount of the metal turned off. My friends is a straight pin.
If anyone has a 510 can they take me some pictures of how the pin looks and is in the bolt.

You know you have to pull the trigger to insert it right?

Yes. Thanks I’m aware about the trigger pull to remove and insert it.
The pictures I need is the pin that holds the bolt handle onto the bolt both sides if possible. I think his pin is too long since it sticks out both sides. I tried moving it a bit and then it hits the receiver and the bolt can’t go in then.
Even if you could push it half way out so I can see what the pin looks like. His has nothing removed from the ends and just looks like a soup can.

The pin in the last picture is what I need but a close up of both sides. If I remove the pin the bolt slides right in but I can’t get it in with the pin in the bolt. Obviously you need the pin to cock the firing pin.

Thanks. That helps. Looks like it sits right at the shroud for the handle. That’s similar to his.
I was rushed so I’ll have to take another look at it. Thanks again.

Thanks Darth!!! It’s all back together and with some good detailed cleaning and a bit of oil it’s smooth as butter.

The pin was the right pin and I had to flip the safety and center the pin a tad bit better. I had limited time last time since it’s my son guitar teacher and he had a client after. Took me two seconds to get it in this time.
It’s a beauty!!
