Remington 700 XCR Compact Rebarrel.

I just had a quick question, I apologize if its in the wrong forum or asked before. I am currently saving up funds for a Remington 700 build, and am looking at the Remington 700 XCR Compact in .308 caliber for the build. I know its pretty much the same thing as a Rem. 700 LTR (.308 Cal., 20" fluted barrel) besides barrel finish & stock color. My question is, can the Remington 700 XCR be re-barreled by Remington or a gunsmith using the factory Rem. 700 XCR barrel when the time comes?

I haven't bought rifle yet, I just read a thread about Remington saying "They can't re-barrel a Rem. 700 VTR" because the barrel is triangular. I just wanted to see when I do the rifle build if it could be re-barreled down the road when the time comes. I emailed Remington and they said if I get in touch with them when the time comes to do the re-barrel they'll direct me to one of their repair facilities that can do it. Sorry for the confusion.

Honestly I would just get the SPS tactical, the one that comes with a threaded barrel. That way you can put whatever muzzle device you want on it and if you need yo replace the barrel you can get one from any of the barrel makers who make REM 700 pattern barrels.
