My buddy’s dad used to use those Hornady shotgun slugs. U can shoot them accurately at distance.

Them slugs can get some reach with a rifled barrel. Some people love hunting with shotgun. I think I enjoy shooting rifles better. I think they are alot more fun to shoot. Just my opinion Don't get me wrong not saying shotguns are NOT fun to shoot if you know what I mean.

I have experience with AACOG scopes which are a bit different. Are these hunting scopes "Dummy Proof" as in if take 3 shots and your grouping is it to the right and south do you read the horizontal dial as " Left" and vertical as "Up" as if you are moving the group to the crosshair? Just asking how the wording on these scopes read. I am going to zero this scope until I get the cash for a better one and don't want to wast a ton of ammo doing it.

Ok sorry to bother you but this is a new caliber for me and first time using a scope with zoom for me. What is the best way to zero this thing for 100-250 yard zero?. The range I'm about to use is only 25 and 50 yards. Would 50 yards at -1" Or so from target give me an decently accurate zero for that desired zero range?

I just picked one up for my dads bday. Got it today.

Idk your exact area but google says there are a few ranges in the county.

Yea I asked the guy at the range. He said there is one range that is 75 yards. He said the only 100+ yard ranges are privately owned. So I gotta try to get into one of these clubs. I Did attempt to zero at the 50 yards at the range. Said screw it and went for center. This was 2nd paper. First paper I made and expensive mistake and adjusted my first group in the wrong direction and was off paper. I kept getting closer here I was down to 1 round left in the chamber and decided to crank it another 12 clicks right. And hit dead on. Don't laugh at my groupings please I was also playing around with scopes zoom and focus.

I like using a bullseyes target to zeroing. Gives you a area to shoot at.

I use a leadsled or bipod and rear bag.

Yea I have a bipod. They had a V on the tabletop I used tho because lack of space I had. It was indoor range with only one little fold down counter and a seat. I definitely need to find a good outdoor range with nice tables for sandbags ect. This 783 really is not a bad gun at all. The trigger feels really good on the squeeze.

Use what you have lol. But I would definitely look for a different range.
