Remington CEO Cites ‘Legislative Environment’ in New York as Company Moves to Georgia​

Remington is leaving New York, and CEO Ken D’Arcy noted that the direction legislation took in the Empire State was a cause for concern.

The Associated Press (AP) noted that D’Arcy used a news release to indicate that New York’s “legislative environment” is concerning to the firearm industry as a whole.

I hope the best for Remington. I won't buy a Rem thats not stamped Ilion, NY. Hell I wont even buy a Rem that was made in the last 10-15 years in Ilion. The Freedom Group did that company no good. This is from experience from owning a 700 with the trigger issue and a Marlin (Remlin) that has been to the gunsmith.

Maybe RemArms can do for the Remington name that Ruger has been doing for Marlin. I hope they bring stuff like the 7600 and the 7400 back. Maybe some day I would buy one. Not now though, way too much distrust in the quality of their firearms.

The only Representative that give a fuck about Remington and its leaving town are those representing that district, and the Republicans who see it for the loss it truly is.
Remington, "Rem Arms" leadership doesn't impress me in the least, they're going to stick with making three of four popular models as cheap as they can while riding the brand name formerly, and respectfully earned....Colt did the same thing and they still turn out a less than stellar product. You will never again see the 7400/7600 or even 750's again and the poo fuckers buying 783's thinking they're getting a "high quality" Remington like the 700 are getting a cheap piece of shit, and the Shotguns? I fully expect to see "Made in Turkey" on anything besides an 870, and they already made a shitty copy of that in China.
I truly bled Green, but those days are gone and won't be coming back.

It depends where you find your info, but it looks like it was a lot of things factoring into the decision to leave NYS. Cerberus set Remington on the road to destruction back around 2012. Two successive bankruptcies in 2000 and 2022 surely sealed Remington’s fate.
