Remington Express 16 gauge #12 shot

I just got lucky enough to purchase on Gun Broker a couple of boxes of Remington Express 16 Gauge loaded with factory #12 shot. The boxes are green and yellow and are marked 16 SP12.I was told they were probably from late sixties.These are a nice addition to my ammo collection,since the smallest shot shells I had were a few boxes of Winchester Super Speed 16 gauge 2 9/16 containg #11 shot. Any of you guys familiar with these small shot sizes? I,m assuming used for rats and daughters long haired nose pierced boyfriends?

I’ll have to take at look at the 16ga. Shot shells that I have home. I do have some older Remington 16ga. Stuff stashed away.

Damn, #12 has to be getting close to those powdered metal breaching rounds they use to blow hinges off doors.

Snakes and rats is what that load would be best for, 10 ‘ and under. Anything much beyond that and you’re likely to just piss off whatever you’re shooting at !
