It's a bargain compared to an unobtainable SBS (in NY). Brace it and its extremely useful.
It's a lot of money for what your getting. But when they say you can't buy them any more you will wish you did. It's not the best at anything. Most people will tell you it's a waste. What it's good for is using up all your old ammo. All my deer slugs and bird shot I took hunting and never fired goes into a box. At the end of the season I've got a few 100 rounds that I wouldn't take hunting again. I just shoot them at the range with friends and the tac 13 eats any moderately powered shells you stuff in there. The brace makes it an actual useable, aimable weapon and the flite control buckshot really groups good out of it. As it's sold it's not a great gun except for target and fun. The brace makes it useable. But now we are adding more money. I paid around $960 for the tac with tax. The brace is around $250. Now your up to $1210.....add in a screw in choke for around $150 if you don't have extra choke tubes and your up to $1360. Still need a sling..... possibly a sight or other accessories and your easily at $1500. I love mine and I can't afford to buy things like this. Glad I got it. If you buy one you MIGHT be sorry you did.....but when they are gone you WILL be sorry if you didn't.

Ilike it,and if i had disposable income id snag it up and put a brace on it. I think it would make good hd/truck gun like you said.

What is wrong with that ammunition that you wouldn't use it ? Carrying it around for a few hours outside makes it go bad ?
Choke tubes ? What for ? It's a close range defense weapon, not a goose gun.
Sights ? You shooting bullseyes at a hundred yards or are you putting buckshot in the chest of a bad guy that just kicked in your door from 15 feet away ?
A blinding white light mounted with a pressure switch, I could understand. Even a laser sight would be appropriate. The rest, I just don't understand.

Throw another $200 at it and you could get the Versa Max tactical or Beratta 1301 tactical , still have the cool factor with a gun that has an actual use..

I thought about this too but I don't bird hunt and I don't think I'll ever be really into 3 gun so I don't see the need for a full sized semi auto. The shorter Tac-13 would be much better in a sort range defensive situation.

your short gun / defense want knocks the Remington Versa Tactical out of the picture. The 1301 Beretta comes in a 18.5" barrel and would still be plenty of fun shooting steel or standing clays , throwing short range slugs , and you would have more control than hip shooting a pistol grip.,,, No doubt I'd like the v-13 in my kitchen junk drawer, glovebox, etc. Just a lotta money for little practicality..

Again....Don't matter if it's a 20x night vision scope or a flashlight or Lazer if you use it to aim. Those would be "sights". If you can't hit what you want then how good is it?
I own the gun. I love the gun. It shoots like crap. Dosent pattern. You shoot 00 at 25 ft and can't aim it perfect you will miss. It's hard to get back on target. Hard to control. If your shooting at armed attacker you better hope he can't aim.
The guns awesome but unless you just want a noise maker that's cool at the range get something else. Or pay the price....

If I didn't have an 18" 12 gauge Mossberg 500 already, I would seriously consider a short barrel shotgun.

You can buy 3 TAC-14s for that price. Dont get me wrong, it looks like fun, but way too much $.
True but in a life or death situation not having to rack the slide would be a huge advantage.
