I'm not sure there was ever a plan other than to stir up racial resentment in order to prevent trump's re-election. At best this was just short term thinking to get them past the initial riots. They are quickly finding out just what a non-starter the whole "defund the police" movement really is. Too late boys and girls - the forces you helped put in motion will be coming for you soon. They'll get what they deserve.

Those on the right who generally support law and order were not.

The only voters who could be swayed were already voting left or center on this stuff, so the people they elect were the only vulnerable ones.

You notice they call for resignations all the time, but it’s the mayors and council members of already very left wing cities they are after.

None of them were calling for Republican mayors to resign, because the people who voted them in weren't susceptible to the leftist shenanigans.
