If the restrictions placed on pistol permits do we need to get a new card without the restrictions on it? Or is it automatically unrestricted and that is just wasted ink siting the restrictions?

In my county you don’t need to but I had to pay 20 bucks to have semi auto rifle printed on my pistol permit and I believe that’s the same state wide . Btw l had no restrictions on my old permit.

what are your restrictions? I’m assuming you have target and hunting and would like a CCW permit? If so I would have your permit upgraded. For instance my wife will apply for a premise permit soon and that will not give her the right to carry concealed because NYS has different rules for CCW and other permits now.

Yes hunting and target. I sent amendment in 3 months ago and haven’t heard anything. Brother in law sent his last month and already got his.

I’m from Erie county and when I was waiting on all my stuff I heard of people getting their permits and upgrades faster than me. There is no order, rhyme or reason to the system. You could call them, but they may tell you that you now need the NYS training to upgrade your permit. Good luck and keep us updated.
