Reviews of Black Rain Ordinance ARs?

Im looking at buying an AR and checking out the NY compliant ones from Black Rain Ordinance. Specifically the scout, SOCOM Plus, or the spec15, depending on my budget. Does anyone have experience with this company or have shot the rifles? Links to what i am looking at below. Online reviews seem to be quite good.

also, i cant decide if i should go with 16" or 18" barrel. I will be just target shooting and potentially 3-gun in the future, so i though that 18" would theoretically be more accurate. Any downsides to getting an 18"?

my father had a bro-15 that we made compliant, was a good rifle, excellent fit and finish on the receivers. we never put anything but iron sights on it so i can't speak for accuracy, but i never had a problem hitting out to 300 yards with it.

as for barrel length: 18" isn't going to shoot tighter groups than 16", it will just shoot a little bit faster which will give you a slightly flatter trajectory. downside is weight and length of the rifle.

What he said. All you get is more velocity and not tighter groups. So for example, with a 16 inch barrel your bullet drop would be 2 inches at 300 but with an 18 inch barrel, your drop would be 1 inch. These are just examples and not actual drops.

thanks for the comments. I think im going to go with the SOCOM Plus version, seems like a good balance of cost vs quality.
