I went down this road a few years ago. I figured everyone should have a .22 revolver. I could not believe the prices on both new and used S&W and Ruger at
the LGS.
I came up with an alternative that has all the features of the newer revolvers for about $200.00. Nine shot, aluminum frame, quality steel barrel and cylinder
and my favorite revolver barrel length of 3 inches. Functions flawlessly and quite accurate to boot. Couldn't be happier.

Had a Taurus Tracker titanium in .41 Mag, 4" barrel, ported. A beautiful piece of workmanship and operated flawlessly.
Sold it to a deputy sheriff who was a .41 Mag collector. One of the numerous "guns I never should have sold".
If the Taurus is as well made in .22 lr I wouldn't hesitate to get one.
What @nortatoga said. They are good reliable .22lr revolvers. For the money you can't go wrong plus SAAs are fun to shoot and I don't think there are restrictions on them in any state now or will be in the future.

I've got a Taurus 94 9-shot revolver and a H&R 922, also 9-shot. Both are older guns that I picked up used. The H&R was still in the box. They shoot well and are all steel.

I have the Tracker 992, 22lr/22mag convertible. I had a Taurus Raging Bull .454 casull, and it is built as well as the RB. I should have never let that RB get away.
As much as I love my Tracker, I also have a Heritage RR that is a pretty good little SA revolver, especially given the price they can be had at.

ok shot the pooch picked up a used smith 917 i believe is the model 6in barrel 6 shot very little wear can't wait to get my amendment and get it to the range price was right and Frank at Wallkill river valley small arms takes very good care of me and my friends

917? I think you mean a model 617 .that is one of their .22 cal revolvers. The S&W model 917 is a shotgun

I recently acquired a well used EAA single action .22 for the grand total of $30.00 from my local FFL. I was at the right place at the right time. I originally bought it thinking my wife could use it, but it's too heavy for her. So.... I'll load it up with .22 shot shells for snake hunting when I move down to Tennessee. I found a decent holster in my collection, so I'm good to go.

ok did a little research and if I bought a 10 shot cylinder I'd have to change the hand also so not having ever owned a revolver what is the hand and how does 1 change it

Most cylinders still need to be fitted properly by a competent gun smith after the hand is changed.Especially on S&W’s where tolerances are important. But having said that , YouTube is your friend.

It looks like a pot-metal (or zinc/aluminum alloy) framed gun. It looks neat, but twice the price of the Heritage.
