?????Rather interesting... I don't know what else to say at this point, but thanks for sharing!
To fill in what I meant is merely the fact that there is overwhelming compliance to something that doesn't even exist yet. It's rather interesting/mind boggling. Especially in a leadership position. I can't stand not giving people all of the facts and answers when they ask.?????
So true. That would also lead me to believe that in the interim, as a procedure is being developed that potentially no semi automatic rifles could be sold post September 4th. So many issues with this. NYS has no incentive to create a process before the 4th, quite the opposite actually, so then what? And knowing NYS just can't do anything well, I would assume that even if you have a pistol permit already, I wouldn't expect them to simply add rifles to your permit. That would be logical and sensible....way too much of bothTo fill in what I meant is merely the fact that there is overwhelming compliance to something that doesn't even exist yet. It's rather interesting/mind boggling.
But do we all expect anything else???
On behalf the existing pistol and rifle owners I encourage the clerk to go fuck herself. Or himself. Don't want to misgender it/her/him.
If you have a lifetime license from the county, you will renew on the state police website. If you do that soon, you will be buying yourself at least 3 years to take the required training. Considering all the lawsuits, I would only be doing short-term planning at this time. Things will look very different in a short period of time if there is any adherence to Bruen in the upcoming legal battles.so now Im in a quandary, I moved out of state, but I still have not sold my property up north, so my pistol permit is still good til 2023.
Now I have to renew before Sept 4th, Can I renew by mail, or does it have to be in person???
What it leaves out is that all the way up to DCJS, everyone is in a 'nobody knows nuthin' situation at present. I am in contact with DCJS certified instructors on a regular basis and this is all still one huge unknown at this time."All pistol permit holders whose permits were issued prior to September 1st will be required to provide certification in completing the safety and live fire training courses before they are required to recertify with NYS Police."
There is so much this statement is leaving out. It makes it sound like you have to do this now, no matter what.

I recognize the sarcasm but the confusion is intended. If it takes months to get a new system in place then the permit process is put on hold for everyone. This will go so smooth and no issues will arise from it.

You are right! We (the members of this forum) should make a thread (by county) with the answers.Any county office in nys just keep calling them every day with questions.
So many arbitrary opinions and laws.
Just checked Onondaga and in big red bold letters they have no updates on Supreme Court ruling or the rifle licensing. You are right! We (the members of this forum) should make a thread (by county) with the answers.
It could not only become a resource for lawyers suing to show the capricious and arbitrary nature of the laws, but it could harvest new members to the forum.
I tried it before for Pistol Permits but went over like a lead fart.
So you are going to accept it all and simply comply while wearing a Molon Labe tee shirt.I recognize the sarcasm but the confusion is intended. If it takes months to get a new system in place then the permit process is put on hold for everyone.
Again, just another example of the capricious and arbitrary nature of Article 400.Just checked Onondaga and in big red bold letters they have no updates on Supreme Court ruling or the rifle licensing.
The idea is to call them every day, everyone. Flood their phone and email. You are right! We (the members of this forum) should make a thread (by county) with the answers.

This requirement is a financial strain on low income and disabled folks.Completing the safety and live fire training courses.
Oh, Joy! A new Revenue Stream for NRA Instructors.
Just like an FFL NRA Instructors become agents of the NY State Police.
Hmmm
How much should I charge? $50 $100 how about $200 per certification with a family discount of -10%
Gotta get to work designing a diploma and get it approved by the State Police!
Should I buy liability insurance? What if the student shoots like a cop and hits a bystander?
What the actual fuck!
