It would be kind of hypocritical to. A true conservative is for the free market. Unions and free market go together like oil and water. Public sector unions especially. But being a "true conservative" does not really pay the bills.

I agree. They don't mix. I however feel that a true free market wouldn't work either.
As far as party labels go, I don't think anyone is a true conservative or libertarian. No educated person falls into one party.

Actually he tried to get us back on topic which is exactly what I attempted once again, but you could not.
I'm pretty sure this thread has shown how positively union members can interact with others without forcing their opinions as law... not really good at observing counter arguments and not becoming outraged and potentially violent.

Another common tactic used by unions is to attack family members of those who don't agree. There are many documented cases of union members following managers wife's around and screaming vulgarities at their children being dropped off at school. Because that's productive to a "safe workplace".
Unions are wealth redistribution clubs that use intimidation and force to gain whatever chunk of someone else's hard worked earnings they want.

About twenty years ago, I lived for a short time in Arkansas with my sister and her husband. Her husband worked for Nu-cor steel. It is and was a great company. In 1998, Nu cor had its sights set on Buffalo NY to open a brand new, state of the art facility. They sent teams up here to begin the process. Between clean up, set up and manufacturing, they were promising about 7500 new, high paying jobs. Things were rolling along great until the Local Steel workers Union got involved. You see, Nu cor is Non-union. Never would allow a union in their company. The Union basically said that Buffalo was a union city. Either allow the workers to be union or find some where else to set up shop.
They did just that...
They built a brand new and awesome shop in North Carolina!

You watch too much television. Please don't use blanket statements on all unions. When was the last time you heard of a police union doing that? When was the last time you heard of the Association of Flight Attendants doing that?
I bet Bob's hardware who is non union has never done that.

We actually had a case nearby where they smashed a baseball bat against an insulated utility line truck. A lineman used the boom the following day and didn't notice the vandalism. When he was working on live lines one of his crew stepped off of the truck and died instantly because he grounded the circuit with one leg. All because someone had a temper tantrum and damaged the electrical insulation over a cost of living raise. If only they were a union shop they wouldn't have been vandalized...
Unions stopped being good a long time ago. They're parasites now that drain someone else's earnings or use force. I'm sure that dead guys widow and kids are cool with the bullying, just union stuff right?...

i used to work for a big shop that only did multi million dollar public works projects.
shop was very legit. had a certified apprentice program and everything. all of the guys made a better package than the entire local union.
shop and/or vehicles were vandalized in one way or another EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK.
but, hey, not all LU's do that, so its cool.

But all private businesses oppress employees and need to be unionized according to you. Apparently you take 2 extremely contradicting sides of the same argument, or have no practical knowledge of the other side and only attempt to deceive others.
