This was in Brazil and in our country you probably would not find an off duty cop concealed carrying while going in to or coming out of a school for kindergarten drop off / pick up. Broad daylight Predators outside of kindergartens would fare much better here in our adminstratively controlled safe space ( for predators' safety) gun free zones (for law abiders to be prey ) .

Fail in the sense she should have put him down for good with a head shot. That is SOP in Brazil where they fear retaliation against the police.

Still think she needs more training to be shooting toward innocent bystanders.

Then, after securing his weapon, she advances on him as he lay on the ground and tried to kick him over onto his stomach.
This isn't some stupid drama show. Do NOT get near the perp. He could have easily knocked her off her feet and ended up gaining possession of her weapon and killing her with it.
She should have just demanded he remain on the ground while keeping him covered from a safe distance.

What? Bad form my ass. The muzzle was about six inches away from the mutts chest. The woman and the child were at a completely different angle. As for needing more training, she did everything correct. Being alone, she put the turd in a position in which he could do little to no harm to her or others. On his stomach with his hands and arms away from the rest of his body. She never had her firearm off of him.

Yes, they were at a different angle. But it was a shallow angle and they were behind and only slightly to the side of the perp. Well within the "oops" area.
And she was clearly off balance and hopping around trying to hold him on the ground. If your base is not stable, you can't hope to be effective in anything else. He could easily have knocked her down. His hands weren't away from his body, he was holding his neck.
Looks like, at the 22 second mark, she nails him in the chest.
Maybe coppers in Brazil just do things differently.
This is exactly what I see.
She IS a trained officer using her training to disarm a gunman and put him on his face for her advantage.
This is identical to what uniformed officers do and get praised for.
This goes against most CCW training but in line with police training.
Sure, a CCW carrier should maybe not roll the guy over but police are trained to go further than just stopping the threat. They are trained to follow up with subduing and arresting.
Shes aiming down the crosswalk, the people are far to the right.
Is it a perfect scenario? No, but she made a decision and took the shot.
Second guessing can get you killed
There arent any perfect scenarios in SD, its a horrible thing.
Again, these scenarios are never perfect but she made a choice.
Could she have let the guy do his business and leave?
Yes
Was he going to open fire on a large crowd?
Probably not but who knows his mental state.
There is no time to ask a bad guy to get in the correct position for a clean shot.
You get what you get so make the best decision you can in a split second.
My cousin Tony was a cop. He got shot in the chest with a shotgun because in a split second he didnt think a 13 year old girl would pull the trigger. He made the wrong choice.
