So, it's nice that he recognizes more gun laws are not the answer and he doesn't like the crime... fantastic, but wait... enforcing these existing unconstitutional gun laws while putting emphasis on keeping Joe Shmoe in jail longer for carrying 1 rounds too many in the city or state for his legally owned handgun is a start to the solution?
And registered guns are rarely part of the problem in crime, so I'm assuming the thought processes that follows that is basically support for registering firearms. I mean why not? those people aren't using them in these crimes as much anyways.
Sorry, I'm not interested in sacrificing my privacy, liberty, and basic freedom to help police have an easier day at work, But our children need to be raised better, sure, and he doesn't like the crime he says, that's good I'm glad.

I'd be interested to know how you came to that conclusion. I don't think that's what he's saying at all - he's referring to criminals who should not have guns getting caught with them and not being prosecuted. He doesn't give a shit about you having an extra round in your gun. And I suspect he's like most cops and thinks the SAFE act is bullshit.

Sounds like a real guy who’s frustrated for reasons unknown. We were slated to have moved to Monroe county a couple of months ago but for Rona. I’m a spoiled boy here in Texas where it’s a Shall Issue thing; but hearing that a May Issue NY top cop said that...gives me a bit of hope. Y’all up there in NY, don’t despair or get angry. Grind on, don’t be silent, that’s one of the best things I’ve heard from a blue state in a long, long time.

He's speaking the teachings that went out of style after the 60's. Children were taught to respect adults/property/and others. I learned ONCE that I never went home and told My Dad a neighbor yelled at Me. I was instantly guilty til proven innocent. We were also taught to stay away from adults unless they were very known by family but telling Family where you are going/doing before hand. It was a nicer/safer time in the 50's/60's.
