Rockland County Clerk / Pistol permit process

I am hoping it’s just an answering machine recording they haven’t changed. I just called to try and get a question answered and the machine recording says due to COVID the Rockland county clerk has ceased pistol permit processing... this can’t be true at this stage of the recovery.

We finally got our paperwork and signatures all worked out and appt with the clerk for next Tuesday. They are only taking appts for permit applications but sounds like they are busy and taking them steadily.

Paperwork in today and finger print date set... pretty far out - January 21. At least we are finally in the system.

We all know gun sales are hitting records but here is just another affirmation that people are taking their own safety seriously and not leaving it up to the government.
