It's been rumored the CIA profiles all young politicians starting out and keeps a file for when they ultimately get to DC as a congressman or senator. It would not surprise me if a wealthy guy like soros had his organization do the same thing. The government doesn't like his ideas. He has not firebombd anything or similar. He has no charges against him. Being "alligned" is such a BS gray area and can be as simple as wanting a land for Palestinians to live in. He is here legally with a green card. Protesting is a protected right, and the Trump administration is pushing to ignore said protections.

‘Incendiary’ devices found at Austin Tesla showroom
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Devices that were deemed “incendiary” by Austin Police were found at the northwest Austin Tesla showroom on Monday morning, police said.
APD said it responded to a call about suspicious devices at the showroom around 8:04 a.m. Monday. The APD bomb squad was called out to investigate.
The devices were “determined to be incendiary” and were taken by police without incident, APD said.

He was not arrested for being "pro Palestinian".
His green card was revoked for actively supporting a designated terrorist group. Hamas is as bad a terrorist group as there is.
What do you suppose would have happened to a green card holder who was providing very public support for ISIS post 9/11 ? If you were one of the ones cheering in the streets on 9/12, I'd hope we deported you too.
At that point he was no longer in the US legally, so he is in the process of being deported. Not prosecuted.
He is not a citizen. a green card is a privilege, not a right. It explicitly can be revoked for things like that.
