RPR 338 Lapua and Magpul PRS3

I also picked up a Vortex Viper HST second focal plane scope for it. I have a Magpul bipod but I'm not sure if it will take the punishment from the 338 Lapua.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have exact same stock and scope on RPR 308. Im also 5’8 and have no issues.

Vortex were the ones I broke. Went with Badger Ordinance. I have the Chucker as well. Best of luck finding components.

Badger ordinance made of steel same with mount all bedded and anchored with hardened pins if needed.
And get to the ground right away as the Supermagnums will beat one up like an old rug.

I caught a pretty sweet deal on Lapua lock base bullets awhile back. The brass I'm starting with will be once fired Hornady. Primers. Enough said. I got around 16lbs of powder.......then did the math and realized I wouldn't even get 100 rounds out on an 8lb jug. It won't be something I run at bi weekly shoots.

Nice choice on that fine rifle. Promise you’ll have a lot of fun with it. Definitely go big or go home club.
As far as scope rings. If you want something that won’t loose zero and will never break, look into;

US Tactical Systems

I run them on my .50
I know they aren’t going anywhere when I carry a 3/8 drive with a 1/2 socket to install the four mounting bolts to the rail.
Though heavy, there indestructible.

Yes they love to eat.
IN my case I gave it a go but could not drive the rifle with confidence. I have other heavy rifles including a very accurate long throat RM and realized I was not going to do anything that I could not do with the RM in terms of reach and power.
GEtting an extra 100-200 yards snd a bit more momentum past 1.5 miles is not something I will ever need and can shoot the RM long more confidently and with less spend and complexities.
So got rid of the 338.
I other rifles with more power to hunt.
