A few months ago I bought a Ruger 10/22 with the walnut stock from Runnings.
After a few hundred rounds the 10 round magazine started acting up. Not sure about the internals of these box mags but im guessing its the follower that was not stiff enough causing the rounds to not load properly. Its hard to explain and pictures show nothing.
Anyways, I emailed Ruger and attached my receipt from Runnings.
I got a return email apologizing for my issue and asked for my address.
Four days later I recieved a package with TWO new 10 round box mags.
They literally asked no questions.

Thats $40 worth of "free" magazines on a $220 gun.......

Ruger is generally very good about taking care of issues. That's actually the first time I've heard of problems with their rotary mags. Those things are usually rock solid.

I gotta tell my friend Matt about this.He just bought a 10/22 about a month ago with a spare mag.Both mags feed ok for 6 rounds and then the 7th fails to feed.He was going to go back the the LGS where he bought it.I'll tell him to email Ruger.Thanks for the heads up.

Long story short, I had an issue with a brand new rifle, and while it took just a little longer than I'd hoped for various reasons, they ended up building me an entire new rifle.....which I still use today.

Those mags can be rebuilt. The spring can be rewound.

Same thing happened to me. Had an issue with the Mini-14 I bought and I sent it back for repairs. They wound up sending me a brand new rifle. Also sent me replacement parts of my SR1911 gratis. Really happy with Ruger customer service that I've received thus far.

Thats exactly what mine does....it fires 4-6 rounds, then doesnt push the next up.

I have a Ruger PCC and contacted them through " Tell the CEO" on their site. I told them that I also purchased a SR9 & SR40 to be able to share mags between the two platforms but could not, as being a ban state, the PCC came with compact sized mags.
I mostly stated that they should make us aware of this as one of their selling points was the interchangeability of magazines. I didn't ask for anything.

The manager of the PCC division phoned me and ,after explaining the situation, I was sent two mags. They were compact sized again. I phoned the Customer Service dept and told her of the situation and asked if I were to send them back , could they send me full sized 10 rounders. She took my info and got with her superiors and again I was contacted by the manager , this time by text. A few weeks later, I got two full sized mags and was told to keep the compacts.
I Karma'd one of the compacts here on the site.

I was also sent a replacement safety detent & spring at no charge/ no questions when I lost one. Walther did the same when I lost one on their guns.

I am happy with both the PCC and the SRs and will wait and get a 357 lever action when they start producing them.

They are top notch.
I also cannot wait to see what they do with Marlin lever guns. I sold my mid 80s model 36 to a friend a few years ago......wish I didnt.....it isca great gun.
I wasnt impressed with the Remington ones because the reviews were terrible.....I never fired one.
I will be buying a new one from Ruger. I have about 3000 rounds of 30-30 taking up space.

Their customer service is good however I’ve had issue with every gun I’ve bought from them. They have fixed them but not a good track record with me. I contacted them the other day about my LPCII rusting I’ll see what they do. If they will fix it great if not I can’t really blame them as so much could cause this. If they offer to fix it I don’t want the same crappy coating on it though I want something better and I’m willing to pay for it if need be.

I’ve had this issue with my sons 10/22 abut here and there. It’s been better lately but there is one mag that has soft springs for sure.

If you're talking about the mag issue, it could just be the volume.

Nobody would want to pay for a10/22 mag that was produced so it could have 0 defects in a million units.

Much cheaper and easier to accept some small failure rate and sell them at half the price, then replace the 0.01% that fail with no hassle.

Mine did the same thing. I had 40-50% failure rate. I sent it back and the turn around was quick about a week or so. They paid all shipping there and back.
They do give you a list of what was replaced or corrected. They pretty much kept my frame and replaced nearly everything else. I think my slide was out of spec since I bought a stainless steel guiderod through tandemkross and I thought that was the issue. TK told me they had issues and replaced the rod. I’d get a new one try the gun and huge failures, TK would send me a new one and same thing. I think I went through 5-6 guide rods and finally the ones they were sending me I couldn’t even put the slide back on the gun. I went back to the Ruger factory rod and same thing. I got sick of it and sent it back. It’s not 90%.

I never heard back from Ruger on my LCPII with the finish and rust issues. I don’t care since I’m sending it out to be nitride coated to prevent rust. The place is sending it to will do two full pistols for $250. I’m sending my para ordnance p12 as the bluing on that is soft too. They will do two entire guns for $250. Most others wanted $200 for a slide and a barrel for one gun.

I’m nervous about doing it so close to the election but they say there turnaround is 5-7 days. I have other pistols so I’m not too worried about it. It will take out two of my self defense pistols though that I have high mag counts for. I still have one and maybe I’ll get a few extra mags for that one.

They basically did the same for me. A few other parts were listed on mine but it was like 2-3 years ago so I don’t remember exactly.

This is the first time ive had an issue with Ruger.
Ive bought around 2 dozen Rugers sinse the mid 1980s with zero issues until this magazine.
However, ive never owned an auto loader from Ruger.....just revolvers and long guns.
Ive had issues with Mossberg, S&W, Remington, Sig Sauer and Winchester.
Marlin and RIA may be the only 2 I have had no problems with......and Glock.....but only owned 1 for a year but flawless with a couple thousand rounds.
