Ruger LCP

Well I finally pulled the trigger(not yet actually...), and bought a used Ruger LCP I found. Its a first gen, and in mint condition. The price was really right so I figured how wrong could I go. I have been looking for something small, thin, and light that I could actually slip into my pocket, in certain occasions. After doing some research, this seemed to be the best option. I have read the reviews, and know about the recall on the really early ones, but this one was built well after the cutoff, and not affected. Other than that, I have never shot one, and would like to know what the real experts have to say about them....... Please let me know what you guys know and think about them..........thanks as always!!

DeSantis Superfly holster is outstanding.

Pop that baby into the holster loaded with Fiocchi XTP and vacuum seal that bitch for carry in the swiming pool!

I Have the DeSantis Nemisis and the boraii. I do like the boraii due to a lot less pocket bulk, but I need to be more carful drawing it so the pistol comes out of the holster. Its also great on the ankle!

I have an LCP, bought it a year after Ruger introduced it. It works flawlessly. But be prepared for some recoil. Most people do not like mouse gun with such a kick.

My thoughts on a mouse gun are fairly straightforward: It is simply a pre-CQC firearm. It's something I will use in fights of less than 10' ~~~ kinda like a knife that goes BANG

The beginning of the pocket pistol Craze, its a gun you can always have with you.

I had one of the first ones and had to go thru the recall, The biggest complaint I had with that fire arm is its an extremely long trigger pull.
that I was never confident of when it was going to finally fire

I used this one for a long time then moved to a Remora. For me the Remora stays in place better as the entire outside is “grippy” plus the pocket mag holders work great. Both are good choices.

Most of the time, I carry my LCP in a wallet holster from pocketholsters.com in my rear pocket. It fits great, and it's well hidden from prying eyes.
Other times, it's on the ankle.

The more I research them, the more I like what I see. I think it will fill exactly what I need. I love the weight and size, and for the money I think it cant be beat. Also, the Remora pocket holster and the wallet holster appear to be perfect also. I have seen the trigger upgrades available, but don't think I will go there on a carry gun, as God forbid it ever had to be used as intended, don't want to add to the mix. Hopefully the shitty trigger will never be a conversation point outside of routine practice.
Hopefully my amendment will be processed quickly!

get the magazine finger extension, if you have big paws like me, you'll appreciate it

When I play around with carrying mine I switch my wallet and put my gun in place of my wallet. It’s comfrtable and not bad to draw.

Already ordered the Desantis Pocket Shot wallet holster and the Remora pocket. Have also been toying with the idea on trying the Clip-Draw, for maybe walking with gym shorts(if summer ever gets here).

For some reason after over purchasing many guns over the last 35 years, this is probably the least expensive or exotic, but somehow more intriguing. Feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.....

I have both the DeSantis Nemesis and a Bear Creek back pocket (Back Pocket Holster | Doubles as a Front Pocket Holster | All US Leather & Exotic Accents). I unscrewed the front flap on the Bear Creek and carry it in my front pocket. Both are excellent holsters.

For anyone with an LCP who wants a bit more grip, I would recommend Talon Grips (TALON Grips) or the Hogue grip (LCP .380 - Ruger Grips - Handgun Grips - Hogue Products) that actually attaches to the frame with a longer pin. The Hogue actually soaks up a lot of recoil but may be a little too grippy for a pocket.
