Ruger mark 4 and mark 4 -22/45 got some questions

Got some questions for you mark 4 and mark 4-22/45 guys. Future father in law has a like new mark 4-22/45 target 5.5” that is looking to do something with. He’s not looking to turn it into a full on competition/race gun but wants to do some upgrades to turn it into the ultimate gun shooter/plinker. Any recommendations on triggers, charging handles, grips, etc? Gun is stock other than a fiber optic front sight. Looking for some cost effective upgrade options.

I put in a charging ring, eagle claw extractor and polished the chamber with a hone. Aggressive grips.

Extractor a bit interesting to swap out, good YouTube tutorials available.

When the gun was nearing the 200 round count between cleanings the cases extracted poorly. Cases were scratchy. The chamber polish removed any factory burrs and cases extracted are smooth. Longer runs between cleaning now.

Does the charging ring make a big difference? I see that you could basically swap out everything but the barrel with the parts they offer. Would something like grips, charging ring and trigger give the best bang for bucks? I’m unsure how easy it to do a trigger on these

No trigger job yet. Look on YouTube for instruction video. I am happy with factory trigger so I haven't considered it.

Charging ring. I have big Pollack hands and this really makes pulling back the slide easier if you're going through a brick at the range. Good for new shooters too. My wife loves it with her smaller hands.
