I got mine at Amazon. They sell cheap Chinese ones on there too but I went with a well known American brand based on the reviews.

I was told factory.
TALO - FDE, Lipseys - OD stocks, Davidson's bronze cerakote with black synthetic stock, Bill Hicks has the Badlands Approach camo. All "factory." I believe anything else is aftermarket.

They took 3 months to send me the top piece. I wouldn’t recommend being that there are other options.
Still not positive I want one of these. I think I do, just not sure yet.

Pro’s = citizen legal with less recoil impulse. (There is no heavy bolt smacking the back of the buffer tube.) Could be legally inherited to your sons.
Cons = requires tools to break down (different sizes of torque wrenches to break down), less ergonomic (Only one choice of stock), slight loss of zero unless you mount the optic on the barrel because the receiver has to be removed from the stock and barrel to clean. Slightly longer than AR9 even if AR9 is rifle length.
AR9
Pros = shorter barrel in pistol format if you so choose. Better ergonomics due to the ability to drop mags with just your index finger. The ability to use whatever brace or stock you choose. You can configure it as a folder. You can run a flash can or anything you want on the end. Ability to add a custom trigger.
Cons = slightly higher recoil impulse. (That heavy bolt hits a bit harder in the buffer tube than a 5.56 AR. ) Cannot be inherited to your sons.

I'm personally not a fan of fiber optics. I have a factory set on one of my 10/22s and one of my Ruger revolvers. In bright lighting conditions, they're bright I'll give them that. However most home defense situations will not have bright lighting. (oh and the front fiber optic fell out of the 10/22 on my first range session, which happens a light with FOs)
I have a prism sight on my PCC so that I can use it without prescription glasses on. It's a heavy sight and gun though..
