Ruger PCC, takes 40 cal mags

Just because I could, I loaded a Ruger SR40 mag and inserted it into my PCC ( Ruger magwell installed).
The mag locks in place and the rounds are stripped from the mag and pop out the front of the receiver when I cycle the action with the barrel removed.
With the barrel in place, the round enters the chamber till the diameter of the lead is too large for the breach.

Looks like a .40 conversion is not too difficult.

That is not to surprising as my S&W M&P 40 takes M&P 9mm mags and a conversion barrel that makes it a 9mm pistol, Same with Glocks I believe and may also be true with Ruger SR pistols? With the way this little carbine has taken off in less then a year! I see a lot of after market support just like with the 10/22's and Mini 14's! It just doesn't happen over night.

Yeah just like a Glock 34/35 ..... 17/22/31 .... 19/23/32 ..... 26/27/33 frames take all the same magazines.

Most .40cal handguns have 9mm/.357sig conversions. The only difference is barrel and sometimes slides (slide in the case of turning a 9mm glock into a 40 or 357)

It came out during a time that pistol caliber carbines (while out there and many to choose from) were not much of a thing...

And sadly the .357 sig was horribly marketed, the one time sig decided not to market and died thanks to the shit .40sw

Nope won't happen, .357sig is a lost cause. It will "be around" but it's going to be a niche market similar to things like .38super .45super .44special

Just Right Carbines produces almost twice as many units in 357 Sig than they do in 10mm.

1st... you are talking about "just right carbines" so I have to assume you dont know much. Hi point is making 100x more 10mm carbines than they are .357sig

2nd... this is the year of the 10mm making its comeback, check back with your "just right" in 2 or 3 years and let me know what they make more of

Interesting to hear that the 10mm is surging in populatity.

As far as High Point. it is moot for us NYers.
I mention Just Right , as it is one of the few multi caliber Pistol caliber carbine manufacturers . And of that list, it is actually one of the few that we can buy.
They are such a small company that they are not setting the trend in the industry .They will make what they can sell....and right now. they are not selling many 10mm guns.
I'm curious as to what their total annual production is.

Thanks for the schematics. I see there is nothing too special but they say it is smooth. We will see.
What I like is the fact that you can easily swap bolt heads and extractors so you know what that means right?...
they designed this so they are ready to easily swap bolt heads and extractors for other calibers like 40cal bolt face and
even 45. The ejector plunger is in the magazine adapter and I can see them releasing other standards like S&W, 1911.
This allows for quick and easy swap w/o major expenses not even the bolt carrier is needed.
This is very good. Very smart move from ruger. This kind of flexibility is not possible even with the super modular AR.
