Last Aug I bought a CZ457 but it only has a synthetic stock. Nothing fancy

Right now the scope is a Bushnell DZ22, but I’m going to change it out to a Vortex Crossfire II. I have not shot it yet mainly because of the weather.

I have the crossfire 2 on my 22. I think it’s 4-18. I wish I went longer

I bought an RPR last spring and I mounted a Vortex Diamondback 4-16x42 on it. I tested over 30 flavors of ammo through it from 50 yards. Bipod front, snadbag rear from a solid bench. 10 rounds each type of ammo. The results were eye opening to say the least. The groups ranged from just over ½" to well over 8", all measured center to center. My best groups were with Lapua Pistol King, but the CCI Green Tag group was only a few thousandths bigger ( and less than half the price ). Some of the results surprised me. The Norma Tac-22 ammo performed much better than expected with a group measuring .700". By the same token, some of the poor performers surprised me as well.

If you haven't yet purchased your optic, Midway frequently has that Vortex Diamondback on sale for $ 200. I might be inclined to say it's the best $ 200 scope I ever bought.

Yeah I was real surprised that 22 brands mattered. I found out that the 5k of stocked .22 I had sucked. So I started over hunting.22s.
Norma Tac-22 and CCI Standard are the best I’ve found so far without getting into the pricey stuff.

Thanks, that was before I clear cut about 1/2 acre and put top soil and grass in. Now it’s a 100 yard back yard shoot instead of a 50. Priorities, ya know!?

Shot a large selection through mine. CCI SV grouped the best. CCI green tag didn't perform any better for me.

Mine performed the best with Eley Black box Match. Can mostly get touching groups at 50. Everything else sucked but I want to try CCI subsonic next. I hope I have enough scope adjustment without the need for 20MOA cant with subsonic.

How much are the Eley per round?

Friend gave me a box, but a quick search averages about $20 a box which puts it around .40 cpr which is pricy for sure! You won’t want to use anything else after you try it.
