I have one. full sized.
It's on par with my 9mm. ( SR9 , XD9).
Trigger feels gritty compared to the Springfield.
I do not have many rounds through it though.
Mags are cheap on Ebay ( 3 for $20 sometimes ) from Joe's Pawn Shop.
I believe that the SR9 & SR40 have been discontinued by Ruger in favor of the less expensive newer models.
I got mine from TargetSportsUSA for $300 new.

Nope they still offer the sr series pistols. I considered the sr9c and it’s like $350. My last 3 ruger firearms had issues so I won’t purchase another one for sometime now.
my sr22 was 50-60% failure rate and failed to go into battery, stove Pisces, and feeding issues. Had to go back. Basically new gun except frame.
myLCPII slide rusted within months. My father in law just KG gun coated it for me and it’s fantastic.
my sons 10/22 had feeding issues. That’s now corrected thanks to CGRUTT unloading 3 10/22 mags.
I love to shoot and how accurate my LCPII is except it pinched my trigger finger. That gun is very accurate for what it is out to 25 feet. Haven’t tested it further than that. No failures. The sr series is basically the same set up. I’d just plan on the slide needing to be recoated. Seems like a common problem.

Have an SR45 and an SR9 (along with a 9E). Absolutely accurate, and have been very reliable. Well over 2,000+ rounds through each of them, probably much more than that on the 9E with no issues.
My son-in-law has the SR40C (compact) and he loves his as well.

I really like the sr9c and the price is unbeatable. Maybe I’ll think about it. My FIL can paint it for me. Too many guns to think about.
I have an SR1911 which has thousands of rounds with very little problems.
Just a few FTE which were most likely my problem, not the guns.
I also have an SP101 and a GP100 which have been 100% flawless in every way......but those are revolvers.

I’m hoping BGC has the 3.6” 9mm 1911 at a discounted price. If it’s a descent price I might buy it. I’ve spent way too much on gun this year.
