Replacing Kennedy would be an ok appointment. Nothing great considering that Kennedy is technically conservative leaning already. What it does is secure some much needed youth on that side of the gavel.
What we really need is for Trump to be able to replace Ginsberg. That'll tip the balance, with youth to top it off.
Lets face it, Ginsberg isn't going willfully. She will hang on as long as she can so we are stuck with her for now. Lets hope Trump is a two term president.
Here is the problem, Kennedy was a trusted 2nd Am. supporter, so-called Conservatives Alito and Roberts not so much, so as the religious rights pulls the strings on the GOP who will Trump appoint?
I want a strong 2nd Am. supporter, not some judge with the bible crammed up his rectum (i.e., Alito, Roberts); otherwise we actually lose a vote.
I'd rather have Kennedy retire under Trump than a Democrat admin. Putting good Constitutional Conservatives on SCOTUS was the main reason I cast my ballot for Trump.
Wishful thinking but maybe Ginsberg will retire too.
