Was just at my local Runnings and the AR display case was pretty picked over.
They were out of stripped lowers , buffer tubes and LPKs .
They had some butt stocks and a two mlok rails.

Its an observation of the current political climate.

Even the polymer lowers are gone.

Rome one had some today. I went looking to see if they had any Ruger PC9s in stock yet; didn't see any..

I asked about the PC Carbine at Clay as well. None yet.

This weekend is tax free ( they"ll discount the 8% equivalent if the sales tax.)
I just got back from there (4 minutes from my house) to order a S&W Victory SW22 22 cal pistol.
I'll have to go tomorrow as they close at 8:00 on Sat.

Yep, picked up a new Carhartt jacket earlier today. Gun counter was busy, probably everyone taking advantage of the 'tax free' weekend, as you said.

I was there (Clay) last weekend, they had ~2 polymers in stock, and another 2 non polymer. Selling 4 in a week is not a panic.
None were brands I recognized, and all were cheap.

The only concern I have is when are they getting more in?

Finally purchased my Victory.
Went back Sunday to order a Kryptek model. I could not pay for it then and take advantage of the tax free deal so I left.
If I have to pay full price ($329), I'll buy it at my convenience.
I decided eff-it, I'll buy it anyhow. Went Tuesday to order it, the two associates who can do orders were both off. They'll be there all say Wednesday. Got home today and there was a Runnings flier in the mailbox.
The Victory is on sale for $299 in stainless down from $349 so I went over and paid for it.
Other than the cashier can't count ( she would have shorted the till $20 had I not insisted that she count the cash again, and one more time.. yep I owe you another $20.
I didn't want her to be liable for the missing money.

Anyway, gonna get my coupon tomorrow and pick up the new gun tomorrow night.

They have the best price anywhere on that pistol. Even at full price it was cheaper than any online vendor.

I inquired about the Ruger PC Carbine as it was a different counter associate than the last 4 days I've been there.
No word yet. They have a waiting list going but no pricing.

That is definitely a good price! I think you'll like it. I wasn't expecting a .22 to be so heavy but it definitely helps eliminate the little recoil the .22 LR has..

I had an issue with the takedown screw coming loose during shooting, so I e-mailed S&W and they sent me a newer version, but I also purchased this (same seller I used): 2 IMPROVED TAKEDOWN SCREWS FOR S&W SW22 VICTORY & 5/32" BONDHUS LG. HEX | eBay

It has a larger head so less likely to strip. I haven't had any issues since. Makes taking down the pistol 'in the field' a little more difficult since you need multiple hex screws but I keep a multitool in my range bag anyway. (I also keep the extra hex driver in my Victory bag)

I'm also keeping an eye out for when this goes on sale: "halo" Charging Ring for the Smith & Wesson SW22 Victory

I've been meaning to replace the grips also but that's only because I'm used to the super-grippiness of the 2.0 M&Ps.

I haven't replaced the trigger or anything, I think it is good on its own for now. As noted in the monthly shooting thread I did add a Vortex Venom red dot which works quite nicely.

I thought about asking about a waiting list, but without knowing their prices I figured I'd wait. I'm still really hoping Ruger (or someone) comes out with a mag well for M&P pistols.. I have more magazines of those than I do for any other brand (well, except for 10/22 mags, HA)..

I bought a lower from Runnings yesterday, they had a whole bunch NOT in the display cabinet.

For $39 I should have bought two!

OH NICE! I love Skip, been there multiple times. A bit of a drive for me but love to support him. Will keep an eye out for when he gets more.
