I did like W, even when he did really dumb stuff like No Child Left Behind and the prescription drug donut hole... I really believed that Saddam had WMDs in Iraq and that we needed to finish the first Iraq war.

One of the few things I will give George W. Bush is that I believe he loves his family and loves the USA. Sadly, if he put the hurt feelings of his family before the needs of the country and if he voted for the Wicked Witch of Little Rock if reported correctly that was the wrong thing to have done. However; a Bush spokesman has denied such.
Anyway, he could have either not voted at all or voted for Johnson instead of either Clinton or Trump. But if he decided to vote for the candidate who is most likely to destroy our rights and liberties and run America into the dirt much deeper than even did Obama then all I can say is fuck him, I will have lost all respect for him if such is shown as true.
Now that it is being reported that he did not vote for either of them, if that is correct, I can respect the decision as his to make but think it was a poor judgement call on his part. The vote for Trump would not really have been for Trump but rather for the good of the country. The personal insults of his brother and family should have fallen by the way in favor of saving the nation from Clinton by voting Trump/Pence.

You are correct. He does not have to support the Republican candidate - there are times when I don't support CERTAIN Republicans, and mostly due to the 2nd Amendment.
The tactful thing to have done would have been to stay silent on the issue. It was Pythagarus that said " Be silent, or let thy words mean more than silence."
Now let us find out where Rush Limbaugh heard such an inflammatory thing from. We have a responsibility to hold those who deliver news to us, to be as accurate, dispassionate and and factual as possible.
Saddam did have WMDs and our troops did find them. Just not the ones they said he had as a reason to invade.
