But replacing all your shit every couple generations gets old real fast.
The world is in big trouble, you're right. But I'd prefer the collapse is put off a bit longer. Another 50 years and I won't be around to care anymore.
If the whole place is going to turn into a shithole, I'd prefer it happened as late as possible so I don't have to live in it as long.

I think the difference between the current situation and WW 2 is there is a huge difference in the aggressor nation. Russia is literally a dying country. Their demographics going forward are horrible. The action against Ukraine (and ultimately the Baltic nations and Poland) are ironically defensive in nature. The Russians need a shorter border to defend, one that can be defended by a decreasing number of military age men.
That doesn't justify their invasion. But Russia is not like Hitler's Germany bent on world conquest. Nor is like the Soviet union trying to promote communist insurgencies around the globe. They know what is going to happen and need to act now in order to prepare against any invasion from the west. Another irony of course is there was no threat from the west nor was any on the horizon. But the paranoid Putin just gave the rest of Europe a reason to unite against him.
The US has the means to be largely self sufficient. Our greatest trading partners are actually Canada and Mexico. We can let the rest of the world fall apart and the impact will be minimal.
So if Putin isn't stopped in Ukraine it is a bigger issue for Europe. Much less so for us.

He combines geography, economics, demographics and politics to make predictions on what the world will look like in the future. His main themes are the US will stop being the world's policeman; most first world nations face huge declines in population; there will be an increase in regional wars; millions of people in failed nations will face starvation. The only good news is the US will be relatively immune to most of these global changes.

As for starvation - Russia is the top grain exporter and Ukraine is the fifth top exporter. If countries around the world boycott Russian grain and the war severely reduces Ukraine exports - then a lot of people in the world are going to be eating less. The starvation prediction might become reality sooner than people think.

While the elites prattle on about overpopulation, the problem is just the opposite.
China solved their overpopulation problem with their draconian "one child policy". They are now fucked.
Human population will level off in the next couple decades and then start to decline. Then all the stuff we've borrowed from future generations (like SS) will collapse.
Some countries are hitting this earlier than others.
Some are counting on immigration to save them.
The problem is that the same phenomenon is coming to the 3rd world too. Like everything else they are just a little behind.

The plan seems to be to fly the Mig's to Frankfurt and have the Ukraine pilots "pick them up" from there
Putin has already stated that would be an escalation and a declaration of war, if any country was involved in supplying fighter jets

Further update.....................Germany is saying they have NOT AGREED to this process..................I think the phrase is that Germany are shitting themselves as that would put them into the target zone of Putin

Problem is we back this move and we are back filling polands planes with a gift of our planes. We also said we will airdrop supplies that the Ukrainian military needs. To me this is getting involved in the war and I’m sure Putin sees it the same. All it will take is a polish plane or American plane to get shot down and we’re likely at war. All this BS and I mean BS because I only belive half of what I see on the news is to get people to support a war against Russia. The war against Russia will give Biden a win and excuse/distraction from the issues at home. Inflation is because of the war, gas prices is because of the war, it will solve a lot of Biden’s problems and people here will eat it up.
