I do not wish bad on people, especially for having a varying view of political leanings. I won't say it's not a relief, but I also won't throw shade at her either.

I'm sure RBG had every intention of retiring right after the inauguration of Hildabeast because that's who she wanted to be in control of her successor on the SCOTUS. Well that plan went to shit. She never got to retire and never got to see the first woman POTUS.

Trump can try to nominate the next Justice but I don't think it'll fly until after the election. Even then the exploding heads will try every nefarious accusation, lie and deceitful act to prevent anything Trump does.

A SCOTUS justice has ONE job....follow the constitution as it was written. Anything else is beyond their job.
They do not do murder cases, they uphold the constitution.
RBG has a lengthy record of not doing that job.
Take her stand on the 2nd amendment.
She believed it was outdated sinse the days of nreding a musket for use in a militia.
Well, that does not follow in the words of the 2nd amendment.
Do we not still need to fear an overpowering government?
Do we not need to protect our families and country from enemies foreign and domestic?
Do we not still need to protect our homes from criminals who wish to do us harm?
So, dont we STILL need a "musket" in our home?
And using the 14th amendment as a way to allow gay marriage even though the constitution plainly states this would be a state issue.
To be clear, im fine with gay marrige, I just dont believe it should have been a federal decicion.
I could go on ad nauseum about her interpretation of the constitution which always lands firmly on her civil rights, progressive interpretations often in contrast to the original meaning in the constitution.
God bless her for standing up for what she believes in but being a SCOTUS justice isnt the place.

Exactly. My words shouldn't be mistaken for personal feelings about someone dying. A job of ANY justice is to uphold and protect the constitution. The job is not to interpret the constitution based on their personal or political views. It really has nothing to do with liberal, conservative, Democrat or Republican. The founders were cognizant of what could happen in the future and therefore built in protective measures that needed to be applied and a system or order to making any changes the states felt necessary. It isn't a living breathing document that should change at the whim of whomever is presiding over it. Either do your job or GTFO. Ultimately Ruth got TFO, just a little past her time.
