Ignore the fact that it's a New Yorker article. I've often considered why Clarence Thomas doesn't consider stepping down now. As much as I like the man, he'd be doing everyone a favor now that Trump is in office.

The rub being that any Trump nominee will be bitterly fought beyond what we witnessed with Kavanaugh. But yes. Assuming there is another nominee in Thomas's mold, he should step down.
