What the hell is a " Firearms safety certificate " ?
I think I'll go down to Kinko's tomorrow and print up a few thousand, then sell them for $.50 a piece. $.25 + postage for forum members. I promise they will be full color, and they will have a statement to the effect that they are official firearms safety certificates. They may even have a dual statement. First that the firearm you are carrying is certified safe, and second that you are safely carrying a firearm. Who wants one ?

The course must be approved by the Sheriff of the county in which the
applicant resides or the Commissioner of the police department of a city

certificate is non-transferable and only applicable to the applicant.
Additionally, the section deals with revocation and exemptions."

Wait... I already got my safety down when I did my hunter's ed class like many decades ago. I even helped out a few of them pre-covid. They teach all about safe gun handling... along with bows and arrows... So does this make me and many other fudds exempt?

Two hours of live fire? No direction of that that means. Sit around for 1 hour 59 mins bullshitting, and pop off one round safely. At a shooting range? Sure I have a range off my porch, not a problem. My sheriff is pretty decent when it comes to guns, I'll send my qualification and become an "instructor". More poorly thought out and equally poorly written garbage.
Cars cause far more deaths and injury than guns by leaps and bounds. Why arent we mandating that there be 7 hours continuing education and testing every 2 years to drive? There are a lot of people that shouldn't be behind the wheel. If it saves only one life....

Can't do live fire if you don't have a permit. No permit, no gun. No gun, no live-fire (the circle of lies). Also, there will be a 2-year 'recertification fee' (tax) likely payable to the State of New Yuck!
