S-6151 and S-6196 on Senate floor calendar

Senate bills S-6151, relates to the transport of pistols or revolvers by licensees, and S-6196, relates to possession of firearms on property owned by or held in trust for SUNY ESF, are on first report and have been placed on the floor calendar.

S-6196 actually sounds good. It opens up land that is held in Trust for SUNY ESF to hunting.
S-6151 is covered under another thread. It's yet another attempt for NYC to have specific rules that the rest of the State doesn't.

Yeah S-6151 doesn’t seem bad at first glance. Not good but maybe a mild improvement over the situation in NYC.

Is it not an attempt to render moot the SCOTUS case, though? Seems like it

This will render the scotus case moot unfortunately.

And now liberal activist judges who "had" to issue carry permits with restrictions will now have a fun new "premise only / strictly controlled unloaded transport permit" to issue.

So NY gun owners in most counties will be much worse off now...

At least with the restricted carry permits it wasn't technically illegal to carry. Now these will be issued and won't allow Jack.
