S&W model 69, Combat Magnum, 44

this a review of S&W 44 mag with a (looks to be) 2" barrel on an L-Frame that weighs in at 34oz. Now this review is advocating this firearm be used for EDC?

My first thought was? If I shoot someone in a self-defence, first a prosecuter is going to go after the fact I used a 44mag, and second this thing has "COMBAT MAGNUM" stamped on the side. How much of a problem is that going to create, even in a justifiable incident. You get sued for Wrongful Death, that might turn into an issue

I think the difference between the two is the cop modified the the gun. The S&W is stock. Something to consider it your thinking of customizing a carry gun.

I have 69 combat with a 2.75 barrel. I carry it all the time. Don’t worry about it.

I shot a 44 mag for the first time this week. I was hoping for a gun with ridiculous recoil and unpleasant to shoot and I was not disappointed. I would love to have a big, scoped one for hunting, but combining the insane cost per round and the brutality of actually shooting them I can't imagine shooting one enough to get that good with it.

As I said I would still like to have one, though!

I have three Ruger 44 magnums and a 44 special. I like shooting them, I will.be loading some ammo on the low side for my 7 year old grandson to shoot. I looked in one of the reloading books and can get it as low as 700fps.

Two of them are 7 1/2" Redhawks the other 44mag is a 10 1/2" blackhawk.
The 44spl is a 4" rossi.

I occasionally open carry the rossi.

It depends where you are when shit happens what happens.
Last year I was taking to a guy from Oklahoma about this subject. He said that a guy from his home town shot and killed a guy that broke into his house.
The libaturd DA brought 2nd degree manslaughter charges against the homeowner because he had a sa/da revolver and cocked the hammer before he shot the home invader there for it was premeditated murder.

Reasons like this is why I will NEVER BOTE FOR ANY SCUM SUCKING DEMOCRAP and don't have any respect for any one who votes for these communist cocksuckers.

I love shooting my 44 mag. I have shot 240 and 300 gr bullets out of it. I love the thing

If you tried a snub nosed .44 for the first time then I would agree that Although I wouldn’t call it brutal, it is something you have to get used to. Costs for .44 ammo can be kept reasonable if you reload. If not you can always keep your eye out for sales. If the .44 you were trying out for the first time was bigger than a snub nose and you considered it brutal, then most likely a Magnum isn’t for you.
I have been shooting .44 mag. For over 30 yrs. and I can assure you,with practice, you can be Very proficient with one.
