Weird, there are other companies that have found ways around the slide racking issue with different recoil systems that don't add an extra mechanical part that can break or not engage when needed
I have no idea what a "fart tine" is, but I'm certainly interested!Easy guys, I bet the safety will be easily removed like the other M&Ps. I dont understand the grip safety so it will be interesting to hear what they have to say about it. My guess is that its designed for old people who have a fart tine racking slides, and that an issue. I know it wouldnt be here in NYS buy Im surprises that no one is making a high capacity 380 for that purpose.

It being easily removed isn't exactly a positive.
"Hey guys, buy our new gun with this feature that is very easy to not use."

Any examples of easier racking slide systems other than reducing recoil spring weight requires a lighter recoiling caliber? Not too mention the felt recoil of something more powerful than a 380 is hard for some. If your referring to the grip safety many a 1911s have done fine with them for over 100 years, and so has Springfield. Im I missing something? I dont think the grip safety has anything to do with the ez rack idea.
Let's see even the original 1911 design didn' have the grip safety, that was added because the military has to always do something stupid, and oh and the well it works with such and such 100 years ago is a shit argument.
And as for Springfield. They have nothing to do with the gun line that is made in Croatia other than importing it into the U.S. just because that gun has a grip safety doesn' mean it's a great design. Cause well that line of guns is mediocre at best.
Let's see walther came up with something to combat trouble with racking the slide and made it easier and it' in 9mm, with the ccp or what ever dumb gun it is.
When people use the can' rack the slide argument
When people use the even shittier 90lb woman argument

I quite like my XDS 9mm.Not liking it,I have an XD45 and the evil grip safety doesn't bother me at all but it also does not have a second manual safety either.
Will this gun catch on? No.
Will it create a new trend? No.
Is it ugly as fuck? Yes
Will I ever buy it? No.
.....but, if it makes a law abiding citizen comfortable enough to carry it or enter the world of gun ownership. I'm all for it.
Nothing wrong with carrying a revolver as I have for years, I trust my life on mine or for that matter, a 1911 which I have as well. I just purchased my PPS which maybe my new carry gun after all. Now, because it is isnt a glock....well it has what I want, no reason to add shit to it.
Am I the only one that doesn't like the Glock dingus?
One reason I prefer the P99. Keep that crap off my trigger.

Never seen a small framed women operate a pistol slide. I just shared a video of a 13 year old girl running 3 gun (I must not have watched it)
BFD her capabilities dont represent everyone else's.
So let me get this straight because I don't think a striker fired gun should have a grip safety I am not allowed to own any other gun than a glock? The fuck kind of argument is that.
Right!! you dont think anyone else should have a striker pistol with a grip safety, and I dont think you should have anything other than a Glock. Seems fair.
And hey cool for your one dude doesn' mean the 1911 is a good gun for carry, sure works great as a gamer gun but it' honestly becoming the new revolver outdated antiquated and serves a small niche purpose mostly for people who have "been shooting before I was born"
I NEVER said 1911 was the ideal carry gun, not saying its bad either. The whole point was that it has a grip safety and has proven for over 100 years it is not a devise that causes problems. Like Springfield pistols has it and not a problem. You may not like them but you cant reasonably support that they are bad or problematic.
Ask your buddy if he had the choice between his m16 from Vietnam and let' say an HK 416 wonder what he would prefer...... wait no someone else might jump in and say how he knew a guy that carried a m1 garand during Korea
Kinda stupid the HK was not available. Again point about him was a guy with tons of experience and training and he is seeing difficulties in operating a slide so it not unreasonable for some people to consider pistols that take less effort to operate the slide.
But glad you think women aren' capable of doing the same thing men are (in your mind a 90lb woman is less capable than a teen-early 20s 130lb dude with no hands)
Dont start with the sexest crap its not an unreasonable assumption that a small women does not have the same hand strength as the average man. And for the record I know a couple of smaller women that is is and issue for. I was able to give them some tips on how to grip the pistol and use the strength in 2 hands to help but still not easy with pistols like a Shield 9mm or LC9s. Years down the road when they loose hand strength, get arthritis it could be a real issue. My mother a smaller framed women that is older could not operate the slide on my Shield 9 when I had it even when showed the proper technique. So, there is a reality of difficulty in operating slides wether you believe it or not.
There is a guy that did a marathon without legs so does that mean everyone else should be able to.....
So all BS aside now the pistol has a grip safety a device we can say it unnecessary, but not problematic why are you so against the S&W making it available? It may not be for YOU, but why cant it be OK for someone else?

Thanks again for the laugh, your comments on the 1911 are beyond hilarious.
I didn' bring sexism into it YOU felt the need to single out "small women" oh and wait you did it multiple times. Even after there was a video of a 50lb 13 year old girl running a 3 gun match like a boss. But small women (accrding to you can' handle recoil of a 9mm or racking the slide)
So, you are saying my experiences with "small women" are less real than a video on youtube. Are you calling me a liar? You sure are trying to put words into my mouth.
Oh and I see you have avoided the whole you pose a question about fixing the issue of (apparently) women can't rack handgun slides and how the only way to fix that is by adding a grip safety, or dropping the recoil spring weight down (which we both can agree could lead to reliability issues)
The Fing grip safety has nothing to do with the racking the slide and no one said it did so get off of that. NO reduced recoil spring power will NOT effect reliability if its in a gun of lighter caliber like this 380 and not a 9mm! A 22 pistol has a lighter recoil spring do you want to guess why?
Then I said wait but there are companies who have addressed those issues and didn' need a stupid grip safety, then I named one,
Again grip safety not connected to slide racking!!!!!!
But nice to see you got pretty triggered at the fact that I don't like this gun and believe the free market will kill it in id say 2 maybe 3 years tops. And I love how apparently I'm the only one that can' hate on this thing on this post.
Oh you also made the claim that women can't handle standard size handguns can you show me that data
