Don't know how you figure that. Most violent crimes are committed by a very small portion of society. Lock them up so they're not out committing another one a week later.You want a LOT more trials? How willing are you to pay for all those judges and their bloated pensions, the public defenders, the extra courthouse space, etc.? As it is right now only 2% of cases go to trials. That's is, 2%. Most (90%) are all pleas. You get rid of pleas then you need those judges. Last time I checked they aren't cheap to hire.
