You'll get all those criminals either in jail or out on bail awaiting trial. They go to trial and end up locked up for what remains of those 20 years. That entire time, the neighborhoods they terrorize and wreck benefit from their not being there. The only losers in that case are the abusers.You want a LOT more trials? If they guy is actually locked up for 20 years, that's probably 20-30 fewer arrests and convictions than you would have under the current system where he's back out and offending again by lunch time.
