We have to renew our CCDW every 5 years. The big difference is, a permit isn't required to buy, own, or transfer a handgun. A CCDW is only required for CC. PLUS, there is absolutely no information about any guns we own on our CCDW. Also, there is no fingerprinting, no references, no interviews, no colonoscopy, none of it. It typically takes less than 6 weeks after submission of your application, to get your CCDW. The reason there is a 5 year renewal is just to give the state an opportunity to review the permit and make sure the permitee is still eligible for a CCDW. If you don't renew within 6 months of the permit expiring, you have to take the CCDW course again. NO ONE will be coming to our house to "pick up" our firearms, no one will be "demanding" we turn in our handguns, not to mention there is no way they could know what we may or may not own at that particular time. Ya see in Kentucky it is believed that our property is our's, not the government's!

I've failed you all, and I'm a disgrace to the founders of America.

I was either going to silently refuse to recertify (fight the power!) or submit paperwork via snail mail at the last minute. Even bought a fancy laser printer so the printout is pristine.

However as many have said, the state already knows what you have. And I have too many non-pistols at risk to "make a point". They probably wouldn't go door-to-door in a morning raid (I don't have a dog, but do have a cat), but when I went to buy another handgun this spring I'd probably find the permit being voided or suspended, leaving me in limbo.

So with great profanity and wall-punching I recertified online last night. Two things stood out to me -

They ask for gender and list MALE or FEMALE. I was soooo triggered I almost didn't continue. Don't we have anyone on here who could sue the State for discrimination? @Darth @Willjr75 @Dr. Evil ?

Second was they wouldn't accept serial numbers with a hyphen, and two of my handguns have hyphens. I was perplexed. My permit lists them as hyphens, but the site wouldn't accept them (no 'special characters'). Oh well, I did my best.

Fuck U Andrew Cuomo. I hope you choke on a used dildo while drowning and burning alive.

It's total bullshit going from a lifetime permit to a five year renewable permit. Those ith the lifetime permits should of been grandfathered in and new permits after such a date are renewable.

Here in Washington State , you go to a cop shop. Fill out the simple form like in Pennsylvania, show them your state I'D, GIVE THEM $59, they take your prints. Generally with in a week you have a conceal carry permit.

We don't need a permit to buy a handgun. We don't need a permit to open carry a handgun.

You only need a permit to conceal carry a handgun. You also need a pistol permit if you want to apply for an out of state permit if they require you to have one from your home state.

Washington State doesn't put your handguns on your permit, but they do send a copy of every handgun you buy to your local cop shop where they file it in your records.
My list of handguns is three pages so far.

I just had to renew my Conceald Handgun Permit last year.
Last year I acuired several out of State pistol permits.

In some states they don't give a rat's ass how many handguns you own.

In some states you can get your CCW permit in a week.

From a Jan. 22 column in the Queen Central News, Camden NY, by NYS Senator Joe Griffo, - As of Jan. 10, approximatley 5,000 have recertified in Oneida county, out of 26,000. In Lewis county, about 1,866 have recertified out of 5,000. In St. Lawrence county, 6,650 have recertified out of 17,000. (These countys are in his district.) I'm hoping they cover the mail delivery in the Albany news this week, there's gonna be an avalanche of mail. Story goes on to say, permit offices, county clerks, local police, sheriffs, state police all have no idea who is going to do the follow-up visits to those not recertifying. As is usual in Albany, confusion reigns - seated at the right hand of corruption.
