I believe you are correct. However, I have yet to see a valid definition for an "assault weapon" by any recognized authority! And NO, just making up your own doesn't count! This term was coined by politicians and others that had absolutely no knowledge of firearms or what they were talking about and has since become the descriptor of any firearm that can be made to look threatening with the addition of lipstick, fake eyelashes, and some eye shadow! The STG 44( Sturmgewehr) is a Storm Rifle, an MP40 (Maschinenpistole) is a SMG (full auto capability using a pistol cartridge), The M16A2 rifle is a 5.56X45mm, magazine-fed, gas-operated, air-cooled, shoulder-fired weapon. It is designed for either semiautomatic, automatic or three-round burst-control fire through the use of a selector lever. In short, there ain't no such animal in the real world!
