Safe dealers

I want to go look at something bigger and better than my small Home Depot special Liberty Centurion 12 gun. Can you recommend any local dealers in Westchester area that have a good selection and prices?

I can't spend more than $1,200 and am looking for a max of 26" wide. I would like minimum of 12g and combination lock.

Got any recommendations?

If you know what manufacturers you're interested in, look up who their local dealers are. Liberty makes higher end stuff than the big box stores carry. Ft. Knox is very well respected.

Good luck finding a dealer in Westchester that'll fit your bill. You need to visit Dick's (as much as they suck), Cabela's, or shop online and have it delivered. Much better value to be had.

Buy on line and have it delivered. They are heavy as all fuck. For a good selection take a road trip to Cabela's or Bass Pro in Bridgeport.

I may go check Cabela's. If I remember correctly, Davis sells some but have not been there in a while. If I wasn't married with college kids, it would be a no brainer, but they come first, and I have to limit my choices.

I bought a small Stack-on $400ish "safe" from Davis a few years ago. I recall they had an OK selection of lower end safes (Browning, Winchester, Stack-on, etc). You might want to try Tractor-supply too. Might have something within your size and budget. Good luck.

Call the local “safe crackers” (locksmiths). That is where i buy mine. They are always very old and far more secure than most all “gun safes” available today. And they are usually way cheaper.

Probably not a true safe as my kids are basically adults now. I need more space. I was also thinking about a job site box to store the non firearm stuff. That would only be about $200.

Ah. That's exactly what I was getting at. If you don't have small children and aren't in an area where it's very likely there will be theft then why not get something like a stack-on cabinet? You can buy a bunch of stack-ons for the price of a safe. I believe the location of your guns and the way you hide them is more important than what you put them in.

If you do decide to go with a full now safe and ever find yourself in Long island, there's a safe showroom in Farmingdale with all the major brands. Very wide selection and they can get you ordered and delivered i believe.

That's an awesome safe for the price! Would have to gut and reconfigure the interior but, totally doable.

I wish I lived closer to Queens ....... Wait a minute, second thought, no I don't. Somebody please slap me when I ramble of stupid shit like that. I love the country. specially in the hills.
