Okay, they are law 'enforcement. Now call the local office of the Attorney General.

I definitely would not have made that call. I bet they asked for your D.O.B and other info. One of the troops I did get seemed to know his shit though. Straight up told me "by law you don't even need to do that if you are a trooper like me, but don't be surprised if a bunch of us show up at some random unannounced time in the future for a "follow-up" to a safe storage concern call we received. Do you mind if we come in and look around?"

I try to avoid unnecessary attention. I didn't even call the FD when my house was on fire last summer. They did not. They were all polite. No one gave me any problems nor cared about who I was.
Hahaha my kinda guy! Seems like whenever someone with “authority” shows up they find a way to break balls.I try to avoid unnecessary attention. I didn't even call the FD when my house was on fire last summer.

I will say that a couple years ago we were on vacation and we had a girl staying at the house. One day she calls us up and says the troopers were at our house looking for our son. He was like 12 at the time.
Apparently someone was riding a dirt bike around on the golf course down the road.
First off we have several hundred acres of our own land to ride on. Secondly we were 600 miles away, and third my kid would be begging the cops to take him to jail if I found out he was riding on someone’s property without permission.
Anyway I made two attempts to contact the troopers when I got home. I even drove to the barracks because i wanted to get the scoop. They took my name and number and assured me the officer who was dealing with the case would get back to me. I’m still waiting for the call.
No, it doesn't.
He really just needs to get over it and I’ll buy him better ear plugs. It’s just because we were at a small range and the guy next to us was shooting them. Scared him when he was 11 and that has stayed with him.Sounds like the ARs need a can
So if some one breaks the law by stealing and using your pistol it’s your fault? Did they tell you to take the same precautions with your credit cards or car keys?Checked with NYSP. Their view is, precautions wise, to keep the them separate -- but it's not a requirement.
Also their view on any laws is, "it's not a problem till it's a problem." They said it's your house, you do whatever you want. They only get involved really if someone gets hurt. Just make sure any guns you're responsible for aren't accessible by someone who doesn't own them or wouldn't be able to legally use them or something. That's their view.
