@Robin i did really like using the 5D jig. Very straight forward. Same with the Easy Jig gen 1 I had previous experience with. Out of the two, if I had a bunch to do, I would stick with the 5D as the router bit was much easier to use. I won’t speak about any others as I don’t have hands on experience with any others.

I've done a few and I also like the 5D, the other jig I have worked but just doesn't have the features of the 5D nor the support. I bought a cheap handgun case and cut out the foam so the jig is all kept together along with the drill bits and milling bits. IIRC the router/milling bits are available thru American Gunsmith supply at a reasonable price.

Following. Thanks for the play by play with the jig. I'm jig shopping right now, was going to pull the trigger on the 5D but it seems to be backordered, at least from the manufacturer.

My 80% jig works about as well as I could ask. I think most are the same in one respect or another. Not sure what was said earlier about a "special" bit replacing the collet. Without the collet, it's riding metal on metal, unless it has some form of bearing.

Start to finish I set aside about 2 hours, taking my time. One or more might be for 6.5 Grendel builds, one of my favorite calibers that fits the 15 platform.

Ummm.......I think you missed a spot. You'll figure it out. Hopefully before you anodize or paint it though.
