Unfortunately for the narrative most of this seems highly implausible. In life, in my experience, the simplest and most direct answer to any question is usually the truth. The more elaborate and complex the situation, the greater the probability it is false and fails.

A stupid and ridiculous example is in film. Why must to antagonist of any film take the most extreme and complex plan and use it? Because it itself is designed to fail, foretelling the inevitable ending.

Simplicity rules most scenarios. Engineering proves this time and time again. Humans are extremely simple creatures at thier core. And adding complexity to any scenario expecting with every required nuance to work perfectly for a certain outcome nearly always fails. To me, that's why the whole hoax theme seems false, and was doomed to fail from the start.

I remember seeing a picture of all the weapons, magazines and ammo used. There was the exact amount of .556 to fill the magazine's exactly. And no empty brass. So who knows.

Not trying to be argumentative but I'm a stickler for meanings/uses of words, and a hoax is not what you say above. Covid is a hoax. It sure as shit is happening but there is a whole lot behind it that isn't true. A hoax should be thought more of as deception.

What I'm saying is that a hoax can be something that did OR didn't happen. Partially true or completely false. Both of your examples can be a hoax. The deception used is the hoax.

Well, that says to me that this suit was nothing but a cash grab. Why wouldn’t the families want to see Remington gone if they are sincere in their allegations?

I understand them seeking justice and conpensation but it cannot be based on just an object whether it was used in relstion to the crime or the actual murder object. I hope they go on with it and appeal to higher courts until a judge with some decency takes this frivolous lawsuit and puts it in the trass can where it belongs.
Imagine the type of pandoras box thst is opening if this goes forward.
Every knife, car, baseball bat, poison, 2x4, pipe, plane manufacturer, etc.. will be on the hook for making somerhing potentially deadly that was use in a murder.
