@Criticalt would have taken that bear down with his fists. @Robin would have used an old flintlock chambered in .224 Valkyrie. I would have used a 9mm Xtreme Penetrator.

No. You would have used a 9mm with a barrel and slide that has a lot of holes in it with a RMR for flatter shooting. After the bear was taken down, you would have dropped to one knee and applied first aid to the bear with the contents of your first aid kit from the pouch on your left leg.
I would then hopefully be able to put out any forest fires with my pocket fire extinguisher... man I really wish I could find the company that made those and get one..
But I would more than likely use pocket sand against the bear first. No need to try things that can fail if I know I have pocket sand on me

Atleast she accomplished her goal, she saved the dog.

In 2010 my GF and I were hiking to our cabin in the Brooks Range in Alaska.
It is a 2-3 day hike depending on weather.
The second night we set up camp in a small valley.
Just before dark I walked to the top of a hill to scout the next days trail.
From the camp to the top of the hill was maybe 50 yards. On the other side of the hill was a long slope into another larger valley.
As me and our dog crested the hill, we see a mamma grizzly and a young cub. They were about 200 yards away, heading towards us.
Of course my dog started barking.
The bears stopped and just watched us.
We gave up first and walked back to camp.
It was 45 minutes until dark and a mamma grizzly and cub were about 200 yards from our camp.
When I got back to camp the GF said "how about hotdogs and beans for dinner?"
I said "how about just go to sleep with no dinner and GTFO in the a.m.
Ive never slept closer to my 870 loaded with 3 inch slugs.
In the morning we found that the bears turned around where we saw them and went down into the valley.
That was our first encounter with brown bears, but not the last......

Why, exactly did he determine that he NEEDED to run the bear off ??????? It certainly didn't look like it was threatening him or his family if they had stayed inside the house. The bear and cubs ( cubs ? I didn't see any cubs ) would have moved on without any provocation. I think he just wanted his 15 minutes of video fame. I think the bear should have eaten him with a smile on her face. Darwin award candidate, but " Sorry, better luck next time."

I seen a video a couple of years ago I think it happened in Colorado a grizzley killed a deer in a back yard of a house and the guy went out and got real close to the bear and his kill to video tape it.
