One thing I genuinely learned from the whole covid thing.... During an actual emergency people will lose their minds.

Imagine a pandemic that has an actual 20% morbidity rate 1 out of every 5 people who get it will die.

People will lose their minds. Crazy things will happen.

The problem with 20% of the population dying from a disease is there will be 60% of the population dying from starvation, exposure, crime, accidents, and otherwise treatable diseases.

I would buy a nice drone with thermal camera, starlink, a hand pump for the well, wood stove, IBC tote of gas, 6 rabbits, 2 goats, a pallet of chicken feed, some additional medical supplies, and a couple pounds of curing salt. I'd probably spend the 3 months burying a shipping container, servicing vehicles and equipment, and organizing supplies. We'd be staying home for this one unless future self advised otherwise.

Long term, a buried container wouldn't be ideal, but it works fine in the "I need a place to hide out for under $10k in 3 months" scenario.

Did future GOPerfect warn you something big is coming? If so, I'm gonna start digging.
